Rowan was one of the most important characters of Heir of Fire and was so important to Aelin, I just felt strange that he pops up in the alleyway and she runs to him and they have a slight movement, but then it’s back to business. I kind of felt the same about Rowan and Aelin’s reunion.

But, there was some redemption after the rescue when Aelin and Aedion got to have there moment back in the warehouse. I mean, I loved every moment they were together and I love Aedion but I just felt that the reunion would be a bit more special. It was just too easy getting Aedion and moving forward. But, when Aelin rescued Aedion from the execution, it felt so rushed, like Sarah wanted to get it out of the way so she could get on the with the story with the two together. After having read Heir of Fire, there was no way you weren’t sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for the reunion. One of the things every reader of the Throne of Glass series was looking forward to was the reunion of Aedion and Aelin. Everything that happened in those two hundred pages was important but it felt like there was so much exposition and rising action, even if it was super important to the plot of the story, dragged and was not going at a consistant pace.

When I first started Queen of Shadows, I felt it was a little slow, like two hundred pages slow. Queen of Shadows, the fourth book in the throne of glass series, was one of the most anticipated books of the year for me and many other readers and fell short in some categories while excelled in others.
